Bonnie has enjoyed successful careers in the fashion industry as well as the advertising business. But she began to feel the effects of a stressful lifestyle along with the pressures of children and an ailing husband. After a tearful session, her therapist suggested going down to the beach and stare at the horizon and let her “truth emerge”. That began a journey into herself. “I spent my whole life focusing on others and their well being and I had no idea about me”.
So after a stress-related personal near death experience, Bonnie decided to investigate this “meditation thing.” Reluctant at first because of a false belief that only “mellow or spiritual” people meditate, she began her love of this transformative, free and always accessible physical, emotional, and spiritual journey.
Now, fifteen years later, she is a certified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher, accredited by the prestigious McLean Meditation Institute of Sedona. Her teacher, Sarah McLean, is the former education director of the Chopra Center.
After the news of tragic shootings at yet another school, Bonnie was driven to introduce meditation to help others cope with the vicissitudes of life. The science behind the effects of stress and how meditation can reverse its damage was compelling. She knew that this amazing information needed to be shared.
Her passion and humorous perspective make her classes fun and inspiring. She approaches the class from a scientific, physiological, and spiritual context thus giving a well-rounded education.
Bonnie lovingly refers to her practice as “Sit-ups for my Soul” and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with meditation and mindfulness to help create a happier, more compassionate community of soulful beings.
