After retiring from a 21-year career as a cross-trained police officer and firefighter, Janet turned to meditation as a way to manage the effects of the chronic stress she accumulated during her tour of duty in Operation Desert Storm and her subsequent career in public safety.
By committing to a daily meditation and mindfulness practice, Janet experienced profound physical, mental and emotional benefits and was struck with how much she could have benefitted both personally and professionally had she learned these skills earlier. At that moment, she knew she wanted to teach these simple and life-changing techniques to others.
Janet has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida, is a McLean Meditation Institute Certified Meditation & Mindfulness Instructor (CMMI), received training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and is a Trained Teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC).
