    In 2013, Sommers Taylor was introduced to meditation and mindfulness practices while studying Sport and Exercise Psychology at West Virginia University. After realizing that these practices were helping her with her test anxiety, she began to uncover more ways the practices were helping her. As a result, she set off to complete her Master of Arts degree in Ecopsychology at one of the only higher education systems in the U.S. that roots their education in contemplative practices, Naropa University. Sommers has also completed her Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher Certification through the McLean Meditation Institute.
    The education and training Sommers has completed have been applied to her works with youth in K-12 public schools, as a Field Instructor in wilderness settings, and with environmental groups such as The Sierra Club. Her hobbies such as highlining, skiing, connecting with the natural world and yoga are all rooted in her meditation and mindfulness practices.
    Sommers hopes to support those who are curious about meditation and mindfulness through teaching. She understands that meditation experiences differ for everyone and aims to adapt her teachings for each individual student. Through teaching, it is her goal to help others uncover and lead lives rooted in their own sense of confidence, connection, and creativity.
    Sommers is located in Bend, Oregon and loves to work with clients virtually or in-person.
