General Information and Terms of Service
Programming:
Illumine’s Retreats, Events, Certification Programs, and Webinars (the Programs) are intended to provide educational information and community support to individuals interested in learning about meditation and mindfulness and other complementary subjects. Some of the contemplative practices learned or materials offered can stir up some discomfort and/or mood changes.
By enrolling in or attending any of the Programs offered by Illumine, participants are accepting the terms of this General Information and Terms of Service document and agree to embark on this education for personal use only.
Unless the Program(s) undertaken and completed by the Participant is specifically a Certification Program, the completion of any of the other Programs does not certify or license the Participant in the Participant’s state to be a teacher or instructor. Participants must follow the laws of the state or country that the Participant resides in.
General Disclaimer
The Participant understands, acknowledges, and agrees that the Participant is participating in the Program(s) at their own risk. The Participant understands the risks associated with their participation in the Program, including the risk of physical injury (up to and including death), psychological injury, pain, suffering, loss, illness, or economic loss. The Participant also understands these injuries and outcomes may arise from the Participant’s own or others actions, activities, inactions, or negligence.
Illumine makes no promise of benefits, claim of cure, or guarantee of results to be achieved in connection with any of its services or products. Do not disregard medical advice or delay in seeking it because of any service, product, material, or other information provided by or through Illumine. Consult with a licensed healthcare practitioner before altering or discontinuing any medication, treatment, or care, or starting any diet, exercise, or supplementation program, or if the participant has, or suspects they may have, a health condition that requires medical attention. All services and products provided by or through Illumine are provided “as is” and without any express or implied warranties, including (without limitation) warranties of reliability, usefulness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Nothing associated with the Program(s) is intended as medical advice, or to replace discussions with the Participant’s physician. If the Participant is on medication, or has been diagnosed with any medical condition, the Participant should consult their physician prior to the beginning of the Program. If the participant has a medical concern related to the Program, they should immediately consult their physician. If the Participant experiences any adverse reactions in connection with the Program, they should immediately discontinue the activity causing the reaction and consult their physician.

Although it does not expect to do so, Illumine may at any time, and for any reason, in its sole discretion, cancel or reschedule the Program, or any of the Activities.
Illumine reserves the right, at any time, to terminate the Participant’s ability to participate in the Program and any Activity, if Illumine determines, in its sole discretion, the Participant have acted in, or have threatened to act in, an offensive of otherwise inappropriate manner. Illumine also reserves the right, in its sole discretion, and for any reason, to at any time edit, delete, or restrict or terminate access to, any of its recorded content without notice.
Intellectual Property:
A copyright and all other proprietary rights in the Program(s) and its content, including (without limitation), software, audio, video, text and photographs (the “Content”) rests with Illumine or its licensors. All rights in the Content not expressly granted herein are reserved. Any use of the Content, including (without limitation), distribution, reproduction, modification, display, or transmission, without the prior written consent of Illumine, is strictly prohibited. All copyright and other proprietary notices shall be retained on all reproductions
Meditation Teachers Listing
A list of Illumine’s certified teachers is available to the general public. Illumine may update this list at any time.
Privacy & Student Records
The Participant’s privacy is very important to Illumine. It has physical, electronic, and organizational safeguards in place to protect all the Participant’s information, records, and transactions (the Participant’s “Records”) from being disclosed without the Participant’s prior authorization. The Participant’s Records are confidential unless the release of the Participant’s Records is authorized in writing by the Participant or otherwise provided by law. If Illumine is required by law to disclose information about the Participant, Illumine will attempt to give the Participant advance notice, and we will disclose only the information that is required to be disclosed by law. The Participant have the right to be allowed access to the Participant’s Records and written information from those Records. The Participant have a right to complete and current information concerning any practitioner assessment and any recommended service or product to be provided by Illumine, including the expected duration of any such service or product. The Participant have the right to a coordinated transfer of the Participant’s Records when there will be a change in the provider of the Participant’s complementary and alternative services.
If Illumine, in good faith, believes disclosure or release of the Participant’s Records is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to the health or safety of a person or the public, it may disclose and/or release the Records to the extent necessary to prevent or minimize such harm. It shall be presumed that Illumine acted in good faith if its belief was based upon its actual knowledge or in reliance on a credible representation by a person with apparent knowledge or authority.
Recordings & Broadcasts
The Participant understands, acknowledges, and agrees that certain Programs are open to the public and may be photographed, videotaped, webcast, or otherwise recorded and broadcast by or for Illumine or third parties. The Participant further understands and agrees that their image, and anything the Participant says may be recorded, broadcast, and posted online indefinitely, unless otherwise noted. The Participant hereby irrevocably grants to Illumine the unrestricted, non-exclusive, and assignable right to use the Participant’s name, photograph, image, likeness, voice, and biographical information obtained as a result of the Participant’s participation in the Program, for purposes of advertising, trade, or publicity, in any manner, medium, or forum anywhere, in perpetuity, without compensation, and without prior notification to the Participant. The Participant, and any person or entity acting on the Participant’s behalf, is prohibited from recording (digitally, electronically, or otherwise) any of the Programs, and any of the Participant’s communications with Illumine or any of its practitioners. The Participant agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Illumine from any and all claims, costs, fees, expenses, penalties, and liabilities, whether known or unknown, of any kind or nature, arising out of or related to Illumine’s use of the Participant’s likeness, the defense of any claims or actions brought against Illumine related thereto, the rights granted herein, and/or the Illumine’s exercise of such rights.
